What is gender identity?
Gender identity is the personal sense of one's own gender. Gender identity can correlate with a person's assigned sex at birth or can differ from it. Gender expression typically reflects a person's gender identity, but this is not always the case.

cisgender
Cisgender is a term for people whose gender identity matches their sex assigned at birth.
For example, someone who identifies as a woman and was assigned female at birth is a cisgender woman.
transgender
An umbrella term for people whose gender identity and/or expression is different from cultural expectations based on the sex they were assigned at birth.
Being transgender does not imply any specific sexual orientation.
Therefore, transgender people may identify as straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, etc.

NON-BINARY or ENBY
Someone who does not identify as a man or a woman, or solely as one of those two genders.
It’s often used as an umbrella term for identities that fall outside the male/female gender binary.
Being non-binary means different things to different people, so this definition is purposely broad.

gender fluid
Gender fluid may refer to a gender which varies over time.
Someone who identifies as gender fluid may fluctuate between genders or express multiple genders at the same time.
Their gender may also vary at random or vary in response to different circumstances.
